Frequently Asked Questions

Most Likely it’s a broken spring, which is one of the most common types of garage door repair. We suggest not using your opener system until your spring is replaced by a professional garage door technician. If you would like to schedule a service appointment.

In many cases we’re able to just replace the damaged parts and save you money. However, if the door is damaged beyond repair or in some cases the repair can reach the range of a new door, we will suggest the new garage door. In some cases, homeowners will have what we call carriage overlay doors. These overlay doors are hard to match in some cases. We take these on a case by case scenario. Feel free to call the office. We will come out at no cost and provide some transparent feedback and point you in the right direction if we cannot help you.

Insulating a garage door is a choice best made by the homeowner. Most of the doors we sell are insulated and durable.

If you’re asking if we think it’s a good idea to insulate an existing garage door, the answer would be similar. Anytime you insulate an existing door you change the weight which would change the spring size your door would require so if you want to insulate your door, I don’t think that’s a bad thing, just make sure you replace the springs to compensate for the additional weight.
